You already know food matters.
Like, really matters.

You can feel that there’s something sacred about a beautiful meal made with real ingredients. You know, somewhere in your body, that cooking should feel nourishing and alive and connected. That sourcing your food should feel like a relationship, not a chore.

And yet.

You walk into the grocery store and the produce looks tired and waxy and you’re not even sure what’s actually good.

You drive past the farmers market because you don’t know what to do when you get there and it feels easier to just not go.

You open the fridge at 6pm and nothing inspires you so you order takeout again.

You have a Pinterest board full of beautiful meals you’ve never made.

You’re not lazy. You’re not failing. You’re dealing with something almost nobody talks about.

We were raised in a culture that systematically disconnected us from our food.

Processed stuff in boxes and bags marketed as normal. Produce shipped across the world and stripped of its life force before it ever reached the shelf. Billions of dollars spent convincing us to eat things our bodies never wanted. Conflicting diet advice piled on top of conflicting diet advice until the whole topic just feels exhausting.

And before all of that, most of us were never even taught how to cook. How to pick a ripe avocado. How to talk to a farmer. How to listen to what our bodies are actually asking for.

It stacks up. Wrong answers on top of wrong answers. Bad experiences closing doors you didn’t know were open. Until you can’t hear your own knowing anymore.

I call this food trauma.

And almost every conscious, health-minded person I’ve ever worked with has it, whether they realize it or not.

The good news? It unwinds. In this free class, I’ll show you how.

What We’ll Do Together (in under an hour)

Name what happened.

We’ll start by looking at the system we grew up in: the conditioning, the marketing, the misinformation. We’ll see it clearly so you can change it, because you can’t change a story you haven’t named.

Map the territory.

I’ll introduce you to the five pillars of a whole relationship with food. Think of it as a map of everything that’s possible when you’re fully connected to your food, your body, and your community.

See where your story broke.

Through a guided process, you’ll trace your own food story. Where did your beliefs come from? What were you told? What did you take on that was never yours? You’ll look at each pillar and see where the disconnection happened.

Build the new story in your body.

This is the part that surprises people. I’ll guide you through a visioning exercise where you close your eyes and feel, in your body, what’s possible when you drop the old story. Your kitchen. Your meals. Your energy. What does food look like when it’s actually yours?

See how the pillars hold it all together.

That vision you just felt? It lives in the five pillars. Now they’re not abstract concepts. They’re the structure of the life you just experienced. And you’ll see exactly how each one shows up in your new story.

This isn’t a lecture. I’m at my best when I’m live, freestyling, reading the room, meeting you exactly where you are. The recording will be available, but the live experience is where the real shifts happen.

A woman preparing fresh food

This Is for You If

  • You care about nourishing the people you love, but your kitchen doesn’t match your values yet
  • You want to shop the farmers market and cook with beautiful ingredients, but the whole thing feels intimidating
  • You grew up on processed food and were never really taught how to cook, source, or trust your body around eating
  • You’ve tried diets, cleanses, meal plans, and apps, and nothing has actually changed how you feel about food
  • You sense food should be sacred and joyful, and you’re ready to find out why it hasn’t been

About Evan

Chef Evan Rilling, “The Healthy Home Chef”

As a trained international chef, educator, and cookbook author from Ojai, California, Evan feels incredibly fortunate to have built a career around his passions. Beyond cooking, he’s a surfer, artist, and musician, blessed to lead Native American ceremonies with the permission of his elder.

Inspired by his family’s love for growing and cooking food, his journey as a chef began at a young age. He spent over four years as a private chef for Will Smith and has cooked for retreats, health brands, and restaurants worldwide. He also founded Ulu Food Forest in Bali.

Today he creates content and courses that support people to reconnect with food, learn to cook mindfully, and build traditions that nourish future generations. He calls his approach “freestyle kitchen” and he thinks you should try it too.
